Uniforum SA, the .co.za domain Registry, has announced a price increase for .co.za domains registered through its legacy system. Prices for .co.za domains registered through the legacy system will increase from R50 to R75 from 1 March 2013.
The “legacy” system is the “old” way of registering .co.za domains, by sending a registration form via email to firstname.lastname@example.org and which is available to anyone, from ISPs to website owners, to use for registering and renewing .co.za domains.
Last year, Texo became a fully-accredited Registrar and moved onto Uniforum SA’s new EPP domain registration system. The EPP system allows us to register domains through our billing system, update a .co.za domain’s nameservers immediately – and much more – all through an automated system which doesn’t require emails, voting tickets and a 24-hour voting (waiting) period.
In response to Uniforum SA’s price hike, and to encourage those of our clients who register and renew domains manually through the legacy system to move their domains to Texo’s EPP system, we will be dropping our .co.za registration and renewal fees from R80 to R70 on 1 March 2013.
Keep an eye on our website too, because we frequently offer .co.za and other domain registrations at up to 50% off, or free with a new hosting plan.
