Pricing changes and legacy transfers

July 12, 2012 by in category Texo Blog with 0 and 0

When Texo was required to register for VAT last year, we set our billing system to add 14% to all our prices because that was the easiest way to get it done.

Unfortunately, it’s caused a few problems because some clients forget to pay the cents on their invoices and have had their hosting accounts suspended by the billing system for those few cents, and Gaye’s had a really rough time because she’s had to amend hundreds of invoices and carry those cents forward from invoice to invoice.

So, to stop this from happening, we’re changing our billing system to use prices including VAT instead of prices excluding VAT, and have rounded all prices up to the nearest Rand.

Most clients will not be affected at all, but some will be charged between 20c and 80c more.

Please, check your next invoice and make note of any price changes, especially if you have setup a recurring payment to Texo in your online banking.

If you have any questions, please send an email to billing@texo.co.za and Gaye will get back to you as soon as she can.

Legacy Transfer Notifications

I’d like to remind you that if you ever receive an email about a “legacy transfer” for your .co.za domain registered through Texo, that you can safely ignore the email.
You do not need to respond to it, and you must please not vote to “Deny” the transfer.

Now that Texo Webhosting is an accredited Registrar for co.za domains, we’re simply importing all co.za domains that are on Uniforum’s old (legacy) system into our new EPP system.

Your domain is not being changed in any way, it still belongs to you, it’s simply being imported into Texo’s domain system.
