How to set up email in Thunderbird

All email setup guides

Add your Texo email to Mozilla Thunderbird on Windows using a secure IMAP connection.

Your Texo email settings

Replace yourdomain.co.za with your own domain, and use your full email address as the username. The outgoing (SMTP) server is the same as the incoming server.

  • Incoming server (IMAP): mail.yourdomain.co.za · port 993 · SSL/TLS.
  • Outgoing server (SMTP): mail.yourdomain.co.za · port 465 · SSL/TLS · authentication required.
  • Username: your full email address  ·  Password: your email account password.

Step by step

  1. On the Thunderbird start page, under Create a new account, click Email. Create a new account, Email
  2. If Thunderbird offers to set you up with a new address, click Skip this and use my existing email. Skip and use existing email
  3. Enter your name, full email address and password, then click Continue. Enter name, email, password
  4. Thunderbird tries to detect the settings — click Manual config and confirm them. Set Incoming to IMAP, mail.yourdomain.co.za, port 993, SSL/TLS; and Outgoing to SMTP, mail.yourdomain.co.za, port 465, SSL/TLS. Use Normal password authentication and your full email address as the username, then click Done. Manual server config for Texo

Once set up, send yourself a test email to confirm it works. If anything won't connect, double-check the password and that the servers use SSL on the ports above, then submit a support ticket and we'll help.
