Short answers to common Texo mailbox questions.

Need Outlook or phone setup? See the email setup guides.

What is the largest attachment I can send via email?

Texo mail servers accept a whole email of up to 50 MB. That size includes headers and encoding, not only the file you attach.

  • A file of about 35 MB is the practical maximum on our servers (encoding adds roughly a third).
  • Gmail, Outlook.com and many office inboxes often stop around 25 MB. They can refuse a mail that Texo already accepted.
  • Your hosting disk must have free space. If the account is full, Outlook can show a send error even when the file is small.

For audio, video or other large files, send a WeTransfer, Google Drive or Dropbox link instead of attaching the file.

How do I create an email account?

  1. Log in to cPanel (from the Texo client area under Services > My Services > Login to cPanel, or at yourdomain.co.za/cpanel). See How to login to your cPanel.
  2. Open Email, then Email Accounts, then Create.
  3. Enter the part before @, set a password, and create the account.

That password is for webmail and apps (Outlook, Apple Mail, Gmail). It is not your Texo client area password.

How do I create a forwarder?

  1. In cPanel open Email, then Forwarders, then Add Forwarder.
  2. Choose the address to forward from and where it should go.
  3. Click Add Forwarder.

A forwarder is not a mailbox. Mail is sent on to the destination. If you also want a copy kept on Texo, create the email account first, then add the forwarder.

Where is webmail?

In a browser open https://webmail.yourdomain.co.za (or https://yourdomain.co.za/webmail).

Log in with the full email address and the email password. Choose Roundcube if asked.

Should I use IMAP or POP?

  • IMAP — use this on phones and in Outlook. Mail stays on the server and syncs across devices.
  • POP — a one-way download. Use it only if you want that. Gmail's website importer uses POP.

Setup steps: email setup guides.

Mail I send goes to spam

The other person's spam filter decided. That is not Texo MailScanner (MailScanner filters mail to you).

  • Ask them to mark it as not spam and add you to contacts.
  • SPF and DKIM on the domain help. The Texo DNS Wizard can set those when the domain uses Texo nameservers.

How do I change my mailbox password?

In cPanel open Email Accounts, click Manage next to the address, and set a new password. Then update every phone and mail app.

This is not your Texo client area password. Full steps: How to change your email password.

I am missing an email. Was it blocked?

It may be in Texo MailScanner, not your Inbox.

  1. In cPanel open Texo MailScanner.
  2. Open Review Blocked Emails.
  3. Search by sender or subject. If it is there, release it to your address.

Guide: Review Blocked Emails · I'm missing an email.

How do I whitelist or blacklist a sender?

In cPanel open Texo MailScanner, then Blacklist / Whitelist.

  • Whitelist — future mail from that sender should not be blocked as spam.
  • Blacklist — future mail from that sender is treated as spam.

You can also whitelist or blacklist from a blocked message in Review Blocked Emails. Changes usually apply within about 10 minutes.

Guide: Blacklist / Whitelist.
